Online purchases within the UK

Our policy for online purchases made by UK consumers complies with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Under these regulations, you have the right to cancel your order and return most items purchased online within 14 days of receiving them, for a full refund (including the standard delivery cost), provided that:

  • You notify us of your wish to return the item within 14 days of delivery.

  • The item is returned to us within 14 days of notifying us.

  • The item is returned undamaged, in the same condition as sold, and — where applicable — in its original packaging.

Please note:

  • You are responsible for the return postage costs, unless the item is faulty or has been misdescribed.

  • If an item is damaged while in your care, we are not legally obliged to provide a refund or exchange.

  • Refunds will be processed using the original payment method, within 14 days of us receiving the returned item.

If an item arrives damaged, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery, including clear photographs of the packaging and the damage. We will investigate the matter with the courier, and you may be offered a replacement, partial refund, or refund of postage costs, depending on the circumstances.

As a small business, we kindly ask that you take a moment to read each listing description carefully and review all photographs before completing your purchase. We do our very best to provide detailed images and honest descriptions so that you can make an informed decision and feel confident about your order. Each of our vintage and antique pieces has its own history and character — we want them to find their forever home with someone who truly loves them.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

In-person purchases

Please take care when making purchases in person, as we do not accept returns or refunds for any items purchased at Fannie’s Emporium or Alnwick Markets.

Due to the nature of antique and vintage pieces, all items are sold as seen. We encourage customers to inspect items carefully before purchasing, and we’re always happy to answer any questions about condition, age, or provenance before sale.

At the seller’s discretion, we may offer an exchange for another item of equal or lesser value, provided that:

  • The original item is returned undamaged, in the same condition as sold.

  • Where applicable, it is returned in its original packaging.

  • The exchange is requested within 7 days of purchase

Please note that exchanges cannot be guaranteed and are handled on a case-by-case basis.
