Enchanting Art Deco pendant that encases the wing of the Morpho butterfly, native to South America.
This style was exceptionally popular in the 1920s- 30s after it was exhibited by the English company Thomas L. Mott.
This pendant has been hand-painted to depict a bird perched on a branch.
This pendant is in good condition with minor signs of wear.
There is a small area of wear to the butterfly wing, visible under magnification
Stamped 'SILVER' on the reverse and has tested as sterling silver.
This piece does not present any hallmarks, as we have dated this piece prior to 1950 and have confirmed its purity via testing; a hallmark is not required under UK legislation.
